On May 27, 2019, in Portland, Oregon, USA, Tete Gulley, 31, was murdered. Her body was found hanging from a tree in Rocky Butte Park near a houseless community. Police have ruled the death of Tete Gulley a suicide, but Tete’s family says authorities never fully investigated her case.
In honor of Tete Gulley and in honor of ALL Black lives, W+K Portland created this banner, handwritten by Kenya Robinson, Tete’s mother. The banner was displayed in two prominent locations in Portland.
Two reward billboards were also displayed where Tete was last seen alive.
