The Guardian marked the 70th anniversary of the World War II outbreak with a seven-part editorial series free with the newspaper.

The series was comprehensive, covering the war's origins, the Blitz, the global perspective, Stalingrad, the Holocaust, final liberation and the aftermath. W+K's supporting press & TV campaign promoted the series, demonstrating how the numerous stories retold in this series make up the whole picture of WWII.
