Fanwiches
May 17, 2011
This spot from the “It’s Not Crazy, It’s Sports” series explores the great care required when determining what ingredients make the perfect deli sandwich—especially when that sandwich will immortalize a beloved sports star. And now ESPN is challenging fans and eateries from around the country to submit their own kitchen concoctions in the ESPN Fanwich contest. The contest invites sports fans to celebrate the quirky tradition of pairing their favorite athletes with elaborate sandwich creations. Once fans decide on the perfect meat-to-bread ratio, they can go to TheFanwiches.com to submit a photo of their masterpiece as well as its name, ingredients and, of course, sports-related inspiration. Fan voting will determine the winner, who will be flown to ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn., to serve their sandwich on the ESPN Campus.

Awesome idea, W+K! I love it.

The Usain B.O.L.T.T.- Bacon, Onion, Lettuce, Tomato, and Turkey. Top it off with oil & vinegar and place it on the bread of your choice. If you're really feeling the Jamaican theme, you can make it with two slices of Jamaican banana bread.
