Human Twitter
July 20, 2011
Human Twitter was a one-of-a-kind interactive event during the X Games 17 Moto competitions allowed viewers to engage with their favorite athletes via Twitter in the most visible way possible.

Fans from around the world sent Tweets to their favorite athletes using the hashtag #humantwitter. Those tweets were displayed live in the crowd by a team of 160 human letter holders, character by character.

The live audience, STAPLES Center commentators and the broadcast community all keyed in on the effort. Relevant tweets were broadcast on-air throughout the event including during the most important moments such as Travis Pastrana’s devastating injury and the X Games’ first ever Moto X forward front flip by Jackson Strong.
